The Focused Leader: When Managing a Great To-Do List is No Longer Enough
Pam Vaccaro is the president of Designs on Time, a business she started nearly 30 years ago. She challenges the tenets of traditional time management and provides insights on how to adjust to the effects technology has on all aspects of our lives. Her work on “focus management” has made a significant impact on this shift in managing time and gives her the distinction as a “thought leader” in effectiveness and productivity training. Vaccaro proposes the idea that we are all challenged by what she calls “FDD”TM — Focus Deficit Disorder. The application of this concept to leadership principles has been Vaccaro’s special interest during the last nine years. She has presented many programs for legislators and legislative staff throughout three regions of The Council of State Governments. This marks her 26th year as faculty for the Bowhay Institute. Vaccaro speaks to international audiences on focus management. Her clients include Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and Doha, Qatar, Enterprise Leasing, the Mayo Clinic, and multiple state, county, and municipal agencies. She has earned the distinguished designation of certified speaking professional (CSP) from the National Speakers Association. She is one of only 341 women to hold this honor in the international speaking community.
