Marcus Smith is a director of State Government Relations at Sanofi, a biopharmaceutical company. In 2019, Smith joined the company as a manager in the selective Commercial Leadership Development Program. During his tenure, he has worked in multiple business areas, including early pipeline planning, sales, marketing, market access, and now corporate affairs. Prior to joining Sanofi, Smith had multiple experiences working across the healthcare sector, from a specialty hospital to an insurer. He started his career as a community health worker and political activist/organizer. Currently, Smith serves on the national board for the Mikva Challenge Foundation, a nonpartisan youth civic education nonprofit. He resides in Illinois with his wife, son and dog. He earned his Master of Social Work/Master of Business Administration from Boston College, and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan.
