Jarrod Ousley has been a member of the Kansas House of Representatives since 2015. A Democrat from Merriam, he currently serves as the ranking minority member of the Child Welfare and Foster Care Committee and the Welfare Reform Committee. In addition, he is a member of the Appropriations and the K-12 Education Budget committees. He also serves on the Kansas Senior Care Task Force, the Child Welfare System Task Force, the Joint Committee on Child Welfare System Oversight, the Joint Committee on Kansas Security, the Joint Committee on Kansas Security, and the 2024 Special Committee on Legislative Budget. A small business owner, Ousley was the owner-operator of a paint contracting company for 15 years. He is an RRP-certified paint contractor, woodworker and craftsman. He is a graduate of Johnson County Community College’s welding program, and has been active with the Boy Scouts of America, his local PTA and Democratic Party organization. A 2018 graduate of the Bowhay Institute, Ousley serves as co-chair of the BILLD Steering Committee and is a member of the Midwestern Legislative Conference Executive Committee.
