Jarrod Ousley has been a member of the Kansas House of Representatives since 2015. A Democrat from Merriam, he currently serves as the ranking minority member of the Child Welfare and Foster Care Committee. In addition, he is a member of the Appropriation and the K-12 Education Budget committees. He also serves on the Kansas Senior Care Task Force, as well as the Joint Committee on Child Welfare System Oversight Committee, the Joint Committee on State Building Construction, the Joint Committee on Kansas Security, and the 2023 Special Committee on Nursing Facility Reimbursement Rate Methodology. A small business owner, Ousely was the owner-operator of a paint contracting company for 15 years. He is an RRP-certified paint contractor, woodworker, and craftsman. He is a graduate of Johnson County Community College’s welding program, and has been active with the Boy Scouts of America and his local PTA and Democratic party organization. A 2018 graduate of the Bowhay Institute, Ousley serves as co-vice chair of the BILLD Steering Committee and is a member of the Midwestern Legislative Conference’s Executive Committee.
