Alex R. Joers
Choosing Common Ground: A Case Study in Bipartisanship
Alex R. Joers was born in Madison, Wisconsin in 1992. After graduating from Middleton High School, he received his bachelor’s degree in public administration and political science from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. Before joining the legislature, Joers served as a legislative aide and is now an association executive and small business manager. In his community, he is a member of the Dane County Democratic Party, the Friends of Pheasant Branch Conservancy, the Friends of Pope Farm Conservancy, the New Leaders Council – Wisconsin, the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse Alumni Association, the Young Elected Officials Network, and the MCPSAD Education Foundation Board of Directors. Joers was first elected to the Assembly in 2022 and previously served on the Dane County Board of Supervisors from 2020 – 2023. He currently lives in Madison, Wisconsin, with his wife and two kids.
